THE SEVENTH-DAY ADVENTIST CHURCH:

The Seventh-day Adventist Church does not have a large ministry to the Deaf, but it does have a non-profit organization to work with the Deaf which just started in 1998, Adventist Deaf Ministries. The Organization is run by a board that is about 70% deaf. It's purpose is to promote ministry to the Deaf around the world, prepare materials, and train both deaf and hearing in evangelism. It has a special relationship with the North American Division of Seventh-day Adventists Multi-Lingual Department.

Jim Hovey, who is deaf himself, was just in April 2001, appointed to be the Director of Adventist Deaf Ministries. The Adventist Church has over 400 deaf members in Brazil, and has deaf members in: India, Australia, Poland, Norway, Germany, Japan, Jamaica, Mexico and many other countries. There is also a Deaf School in India:
